| Australian Gardens, Cranbourne |
The Australian Gardens complex at Cranbourne represents a theme that explores and expresses the evolving relationship between the Australian people and its native landscape and flora. The project was the vision of the The Royal Botanic Gardens and they engaged Cut & Fill as the Principal Contractor to complete this project.
Cut & Fill had primary responsibility for delivery of a scope of works that included: service roads, rock gardens; rock pool waterway bridges; escarpment walls; ecological & sustainable landscape gardens; dry river walks; shelters; hydraulics; paving; shelters; and structures. To adhere to the project theme and requirements, Cut & Fill had to ensure all products for landscape and construction use were resourced in Australia. This included the use of recycled timbers, all native flora and fauna (529 advance tree plantings), granite from WA for the rock pool waterway.
