This design and construct contract with the City of Casey involved the construction of a new road and 4 span bridge construction over the East Gippsland Railway at Berwick. Major works included the road and bridgeworks; the alteration and relocation of public utilities and VicTrack assets; street lighting works; landscape design and implementation as well as drainage works, culvert structures and retaining walls. Importantly, this contract was required to be undertaken with a new bridge spanning over a very busy electrified rail line. It involved night beam lifts in order to minimise community impacts. Our management team on this project had to ensure a high level of communication was provided to other key stakeholders including Connex, VicTrack, Mainco, SEWL, and the local community.
