Loch-Bena/Bena Bypass, Victoria
The design and construction of the Bena Bypass and realignment at Loch on the South Gippsland Highway. Work involved two adjoining contracts (carried out simultaneously and managed as one by Cut & Fill) and included the realignment and reconstruction of 5.3kms of single carriageway, three new bridge structures, granular pavements, extensive landscaping and associated works. One bridge structure involved construction over the South Gippsland rail line which involved complex design and construct considerations on an extreme skew. The contract also included the landscaping and planting of some 150,000 plants as well as wetlands construction.
