Wendouree Rail Station, Ballarat
In awarding Cut & Fill the Wendouree Rail Station contract, the Department of Infrastructure (Vic) brief specified the construction of a new railway station to the north of Ballarat in accordance with Green Star and Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR) Scheme energy requirements. Work included construction of a new station building, new platform, earthwork, drainage and pavements for access roads, a large car park and architectural and structural modifications at the existing Ballarat Station. Major sewer installation, phone, power, water relocation, new street lighting and CCTV camera surveillance was also required. Once completed, the station will provide improved public transport options for the 90,000 residents of Ballarat and the surrounding regions of Wendouree.
